2-year RI for revenue employee in graft case

Patna: A special vigilance court in Bhagalpur on Tuesday convicted revenue employee Ashok Paswan, posted at Anchal Haveli Kharagpur in Munger, in a corruption case registered by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) in 2007.The court found him guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act and sentenced him to two years’ rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000.According to the prosecution, Paswan was caught by the VIB on July 12, 2007, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1500. The conviction takes the VIB’s tally of corruption case convictions in 2026 to 10.
