Meerut: Three people, including a couple and a 10-year-old girl, were killed and four others injured in separate storm-related incidents in Moradabad and Sambhal districts, police said on Saturday. The storm also disrupted electricity supply in several parts of both districts and caused widespread damage.In Moradabad district’s Mundhapande area, Mohd Idris (40), a street vendor, and his wife Fatima (36) died after an eight-foot-high wall of a neighbouring house collapsed on them during strong winds while they were asleep in the courtyard of their home in Dalpatpur village on Friday night.Neighbours rushed to the spot, pulled the couple out of the debris and took them to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead. The couple is survived by six sons and two daughters.In Sambhal district, 10-year-old Priyanshi, the only child of her parents, was killed after a neighbouring wall collapsed during the storm and damaged the roof of her house, officials said. She died during treatment around 1.30 am on Saturday.“Four others were injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment. Assistance will be provided to the family as per govt norms,” said naib tehsildar Arvind Kumar.
