Based on the complaint, a case was registered under Sections 74 and 78 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 5(c)/6, 9/10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the official said.
Ranchi: Khunti police have rescued a man and rescued his two kidnappers from Murhu police station limits on Wednesday.In a statement, Khunti police on Thursday said Ajay Horo and Mangal Tiru, residents of Lapung and Karra areas were arrested for abducting Sammuel Soy for ransom. A knife, a bike and two mobile phones have been recovered from them.Sammuel had left his house last Saturday to visit an office in Khunti but did not return. His wife informed the police about the incident on Monday. Based on technical inputs police learnt that a few unidentified persons have kidnapped Soy and are demanding a sum of Rs 7 lakhs for his release. Police arrested Ajay and Mangal from Jurdaag forest and rescued Soy form the Murum area.
