CHENNAI: After days of hectic election work, chief minister M K Stalin took a break, arriving in Kodaikanal on Saturday with his family members. Stalin boarded a chartered flight from Chennai airport to Madurai and reached Kodaikanal via road. In Madurai, Tamil Nadu assembly speaker M Appavu welcomed him. At Madurai airport, when reporters asked him about prospects of DMK alliance, he gave a thumbs-up sign, indicating that DMK-led secular progressive alliance would register “a thumping victory”. Later, when he reached Kodaikanal, tourists welcomed him. While some posed for photos with him, a tourist insisted that he repeat the ‘over’ gesture he made after seat-sharing talks with Congress at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam on March 4. Stalin responded positively. DMK sources said Stalin and his family were likely to spend three days in Kodaikanal. Stalin has been visiting Kodaikanal after all major elections in 2019, 2021 and 2024 to take a break between polling and election results. He commenced his campaign from Tiruvarur on March 31 and concluded his 20-day schedule on April 21. Stalin had a hectic campaign schedule, addressing two public meetings every day, followed by morning walks when he shared a cuppa with people and interacted with them.
