The BSA Scrambler 650 was launched recently in India. This motorcycle goes up against the Royal Enfield Bear 650. Both motorcycles feature retro styling and dual-purpose ability. Here, let’s take a quick look at how these two motorcycles stack up against each other.

BSA Scrambler 650 vs Royal Enfield Bear 650: Engine

The biggest difference lies in engine configuration. The BSA uses a 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 45 hp at 6,500 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. On the other hand, the Bear 650 gets Royal Enfield’s 648cc parallel-twin motor, delivering 47.4 hp at 7,150 rpm and 56.5 Nm of torque at 5,150 rpm. Both bikes come with different gearbox setups, with the BSA using a 5-speed unit while the Bear gets a 6-speed transmission.

In terms of hardware, the BSA Scrambler 650 uses a telescopic fork and twin shock setup, paired with Brembo brakes and a relatively lighter 208 kg weight. The Bear 650, meanwhile, features USD front forks, twin rear shocks, and a kerb weight of 216 kg. It also gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, along with dual-purpose tyres.

BSA Scrambler 650 vs Royal Enfield Bear 650: Pricing

Speaking of the pricing, the BSA Scrambler 650 is positioned more aggressively. It is priced from Rs 3.24 lakh to Rs 3.40 lakh, ex-showroom. In comparison, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 sits higher in the range, starting from Rs 3.75 lakh, ex-showroom, and going up to Rs 3.97 lakh, ex-showroom.
