Later, he will travel to the Netherlands, Sweden and Italy. If the PM’s proposed stopover in the UAE materialises, it will offer India an important opportunity to express solidarity with a country with which it has one of the most consequential strategic partnerships in the Gulf region.Modi has already spoken twice to president Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan and condemned violation of UAE’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by Iran which had launched strikes on GCC countries.
