Rohtak: In a significant move aimed at opening global pathways for students of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), the national president of the Australian Haryanvi Association, Seva Singh, met vice-chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia to deliberate on strengthening academic and professional linkages with the Haryanvi diaspora in Australia.The discussion centered on creating meaningful opportunities for MDU students in the areas of higher education, employment, and research collaboration in Australia. Both sides explored strategic avenues to connect students with global platforms and enhance their international exposure.Prof. Milap Poonia stressed that the university is committed to preparing its students for global competitiveness while strengthening MDU’s international profile. He highlighted that the university will increasingly focus on industry-oriented education, skill development, and international exposure, ensuring that students are well-equipped to build successful careers not only in India but also abroad. He expressed confidence that collaboration with the Australian Haryanvi Association would play a crucial role in positioning MDU as a global education hub.Seva Singh reiterated his commitment to supporting this initiative and stated that such collaborations would help youth from Haryana gain recognition and opportunities at the international level.During the interaction, several key proposals were discussed to facilitate global advancement for students. These included signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Australian universities for joint research and faculty exchange programmes, mentorship and career guidance initiatives for students, and facilitating internships and industry exposure through diaspora professionals.
