Process for AU PG admissions begins today | Prayagraj News

Prayagraj: Allahabad University has announced the commencement of the Postgraduate Admission Test (PGAT) for the academic session 2026-27.Director (admission) Prof Kapinder said that the online registration process will begin from May 5 and will continue till May 25. Applications will be accepted only through the official portal https://aupravesh2026.cbtexam.in/, he said adding that PGAT-2026 information bulletin is available on the university website.Th admissions will be conducted through two categories — PGAT-I for conventional courses and PGAT-II for non-conventional courses, said Prof Kapinder. While PGAT-I will be conducted in both online and offline modes, PGAT-II will be conducted in online mode.The registration fee for Unreserved, EWS and OBC candidates under PGAT-I is Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates, for PGAT-II the fee is Rs 1,600 for Unreserved, EWS and OBC categories and Rs 800 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.Each PGAT examination will carry 300 marks with 150 multiple-choice questions, including sections on General Awareness, English, Hindi, Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability, he said adding that there would will be no negative marking.

Prof. Kapinder said that MBA and MBA (RD) applicants will have to appear in an additional departmental test. He further highlighted that minor revisions have been made in eligibility criteria this year. He also noted that MSc Agriculture Botany has been renamed as MSc Agricultural Microbiology.Foreign nationals, he said, will apply separately through the International Students Advisor’s office and will not be required to appear in PGAT.
