Jaipur: The mines department has lodged an FIR on June 13 at the Padukalan police station alleging the use of forged transit passes to facilitate the illegal transportation of sand in Nagaur district.According to the complaint filed by the office of the assistant mining engineer, Gotan, police informed the mines department on June 12 that two dumpers loaded with bajri had been detained at the Padukalan bypass tri-junction and brought to the police station premises. Mining officials subsequently inspected the vehicles and verified the documents produced by the drivers. An official said, “During scrutiny, it was found that the transit passes submitted by the drivers had been generated at around 8.16am and 8.26am on June 12. However, a report later submitted to the superintendent of police stated that the two dumpers had already been brought to the police station premises at 5.40am the same day,”“The transit passes were generated only after the vehicles had already been detained by the police and, therefore, could not have been valid,” the complaint alleged. It further claimed that the documents were “prepared and produced in a forged manner” to lend legitimacy to the transportation of the mineral, indicating an intention to facilitate illegal mining and dispatch of minerals.
