Anson Williams got a taste of fame after he was cast as Warren “Potsie” Weber on Happy Days, but the show’s creator, Garry Marshall, made sure it didn’t go to his head.
During a recent episode of Two B**ches From Texas, hosted by sisters Morgan Fairchild and Cathryn Hart, Williams, 76, spoke about his time on the iconic TV show.
Williams described Marshall, who died in 2016 at 81, as a “second dad” to him, along with Henry Winkler and Ron Howard who also starred in the sitcom. He added that Marshall “really cared” about the group, but that didn’t stop them from getting big heads about their careers.

“Early on in the show, he sat us down, and we were kind of doing pretty good. He goes, ‘You know, you guys are famous. You don’t deserve it. There’s a light on you. You got to take the light and you shine it on people that do deserve it, that do great things. They work harder than you, okay? You help them out,’” Williams recalled.

Williams credited Marshall’s words with helping him, Winkler and Howard form a bond with one another and said that after that, Happy Days became a “very selfless show.”
