There is a large law enforcement response to an explosion and fire at the refinery in Chalmette Friday afternoon. The eastbound lanes of West St. Bernard Highway from Jackson Boulevard to Palmisano Boulevard were briefly shut down for emergency responders. Those roads have since reopened.
