Patna: After transforming the lives of underprivileged students through his iconic ‘Super 30’ programme, renowned mathematician and educator Anand Kumar has taken a new step in the field of education with the launch of ‘Super Infinity’, a new initiative aimed at changing the way mathematics is taught and learned.Mathematics has long been considered one of the most difficult subjects to learn. However, launched just a month ago on YouTube, the programme has already attracted more than 3 lakh subscribers and is receiving appreciation from across India as well as countries including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Canada and Australia. Many viewers have said they have never experienced mathematics being taught in such an engaging and creative way.The new initiative aims to take quality mathematics education beyond the limitations of classrooms and reach students across the country and the world. Unlike conventional online classes, the programme seeks to make learning more engaging through a mix of storytelling, music, drama, animation, visual explanations and real-life situations.Anand said the idea behind the initiative emerged from a simple question—while Super 30 could help only a limited number of students, what about the millions of other children with dreams and potential? Super Infinity, he said, is an effort to reach those students and turn education into a global movement.According to Anand, the initiative is the result of six years of continuous work. “For six years, we worked almost every day to rethink how mathematics could be taught online. Our goal was not to create just another online course, but to build an entirely new learning experience,” he said.The platform will offer mathematics learning from basic school-level concepts to advanced topics, including preparation for IIT-JEE, Olympiads and other competitive examinations. Instead of encouraging memorisation, the classes focus on helping students understand concepts deeply and develop genuine problem-solving skills. The mathematician believes that strong fundamentals can help students solve even the most challenging mathematical problems with confidence.The classes are being made available free of cost through the YouTube channel and its official website. “Like Super 30, we want to keep this platform free for as long as we possibly can. Quality education should never be limited by a student’s financial circumstances,” Anand said.The platform has also impressed educators with its unique approach to explaining difficult mathematical questions through remarkably simple ideas. Many teachers have described the teaching method as refreshingly original.
