According to early estimates on sacnilk, ‘The Odyssey’ collected Rs 6.50 crore net on Day 6 (Wednesday) across 8,268 shows in India. The film registered a 22.2% decline from Tuesday’s net collection of Rs 8.35 crore.

‘The Odyssey’ records good box office run in India

‘The Odyssey’ began its theatrical run with a Rs 17.40 crore net opening on Friday before witnessing substantial weekend growth. By the end of its debut weekend, the film had amassed an estimated Rs 61.30 crore net, driven by strong occupancy in premium IMAX formats and positive word of mouth.Although collections dipped during the weekdays to around Rs 8 crore, the epic managed to maintain a steady hold at the box office before Wednesday’s larger decline.

‘The Odyssey’ crosses Rs 100 crore

Taking into account the film’s earnings on Wednesday, the movie now boasts of a total India net collection of an estimated Rs 84.15 crore, while its India gross collection has reached approximately Rs 100.38 crore.The latest figures make ‘The Odyssey’ only the 21st Hollywood release to cross the Rs 100 crore gross mark in India. This major achievement marks both Christopher Nolan and Matt Damon’s second film to hit the milestone in the country. The two previously worked on the blockbuster, ‘Oppenheimer’ (2023), which remains among the top 10 highest-grossing Hollywood releases in India with a lifetime collection of Rs 128.46 crore.

English version continues to dominate

The film’s original English-language version has remained the biggest contributor to its overall earnings in India. Of the estimated Rs 84.15 crore net collected so far, the English version has accounted for approximately Rs 66.55 crore, underlining the strong demand for Nolan’s films in their original language.Meanwhile, the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions have collectively contributed under Rs 20 crore, adding to the film’s overall nationwide tally.

‘The Odyssey’ cast

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, the film tells the story of Odysseus, the Greek king of Ithaca, and his long and perilous journey home to reunite with his wife Penelope following the Trojan Wars. The film is based on Homer’s ancient Greek epic and features an ensemble cast that includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Himesh Patel, John Leguizamo and Mia Goth.
