Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda will next be seen in the upcoming period action drama, ‘Ranabaali’. For the film, the actor will portray a fierce freedom fighter riding a horse for which he underwent “rigorous horse-riding sessions” to master controlling it while lifting weapons.According to a report by India Today, the ‘Kingdom’ actor spent several months learning new skills and training hard to make every action scene look real. Playing such an intense role, he also worked on different physical and combat techniques to ensure full commitment to the character.
Months of training for the action-packed role
While doing horse riding sessions, he also mastered its control and agility to use weapons including firearms and perform fire effects while horseback.His training further includes knife combat, firearm drills and action choreography. He also went through an intense bodybuilding routine. The goal was to help him perform every action scene with confidence and make the character look as real as possible. The makers believe this preparation will be visible in every frame of the film.
About ‘Ranabaali’
Speaking about the film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film features Vijay as a fearless rebel from the 19th century. It also features his wife Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead. Her character is named Jayamma. The movie marks their first project together after their much hyped wedding.Along with the lead pair, Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo known for ‘The Mummy,’ is also playing the main antagonist.The film is set to release in theatres on September 11, 2026.
Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming projects
On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda has multiple projects in his pipeline. He will be seen in the Ravi Kiran Kola directorial action thriller, ‘Rowdy Janardhana,’ with Keerthy Suresh in the leading role.He also signed a film with Hi Nanna director Shouryuv, tentatively called ‘VDXShouryuv’.
