Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday inspected three manufacturing units in the Hajipur Industrial Area, north of the river Ganga, and directed officials concerned to accelerate industrialisation to create more employment opportunities for youths.He visited the production units of New Zeal Seasonal Wear Pvt Limited, which prepares clothes and fabrics; Competence Export Pvt Limited, which manufactures shoes for national and international markets; and Britannia Industries Limited, which produces cookies and biscuits for distribution within the state and beyond.MLA Siddharth Patel, principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, state chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, industries department additional chief secretary Mihir Kumar Singh, CM’s secretary Kumar Ravi and Vaishali district magistrate Varsha Singh were among those who accompanied the CM.At the New Zeal Seasonal Wear unit, the CM observed the workers engaged in tailoring and fabric preparation, interacting briefly with those on the shop floor. At the shoe manufacturing unit, he enquired about the supply chain for raw materials and the reach of its products in domestic and international markets.Impressed by the ongoing industrial operations, the CM said, “Pay attention to the establishment of industrial units and look forward to the expansion of the units already in production. It will create job and work opportunities.”Located around 30km north of Patna by road, across the river Ganga, the Hajipur Industrial Area has allotted 291.89 acres of land to 289 industrial units, while 304.11 acres remain to be allotted. It is supported by infrastructure including a fully equipped power supply system, developed road network, solar street lighting, water drainage and boundary wall. Units located here include Comfed Sudha Dairy, Godrej Agrovet, SLMG Beverages, Sone Biscuit, Anmol India and Avon Cycle.
