NEW DELHI: IndiGo chief executive officer Pieter Elbers has stepped down from his position, months after the airline faced a major operational disruption that left hundreds of passengers stranded across multiple airports, Reuters reported.The airline said its managing director Rahul Bhatia would manage the company in the interim until a replacement is hired.Elbers, who took charge of the airline in 2022, led the carrier during a period of rapid expansion but also faced scrutiny following a widespread operational meltdown earlier this year that resulted in flight delays, cancellations and passenger complaints.IndiGo is India’s largest airline by market share and operates an extensive domestic and international network.(With inputs from Reuters)
