BHOPAL: A Class 11 student was allegedly raped in Chhatarpur district on Tuesday evening. The 17-year-old girl was found bleeding and unconscious in an open field, and she is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital.The survivor had left her home around 7 PM on Tuesday under the pretext of relieving herself. When she failed to return, her worried family launched a search and discovered her lying unconscious in a field, her clothes stained with blood.According to her family, the girl briefly regained consciousness and was heard muttering, “leave me, save me!” before passing out again.The survivor’s father has named Tinku Thakur (23), a married resident of the same village, as the perpetrator. He alleged that Thakur had been stalking and harassing his daughter during her daily commute to coaching classes, frequently pressuring her to meet him.“The accused threatened to shoot her if she didn’t meet him,” the father stated. Fearing for her life, the girl reportedly went to meet him on Tuesday. The father further alleged that the accused wore a mask, used a chemical spray to weaken his daughter, and then raped her.While the family initially focused on getting medical help before informing the authorities, the police were alerted once she reached the district hospital.Additional SP, along with teams from the Kotwali and Civil Lines police stations, visited the hospital to check on the victim. SP Agam Jain said that the suspect has been arrested and has been charged under various sections including POSCO.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
