The Canada forward became the most expensive signing in women’s football history when she completed a £1m move to the Gunners from Liverpool last July.
The 21-year-old has scored in both of Arsenal’s most recent WSL wins against London City Lionesses and leaders Manchester City.
“We’re very happy Olivia joined us because she’s taken us to the next level,” Slegers said.
“When players enter a new environment, they need time to learn new people, methodologies and partnerships. Now she is playing more instinctively and is really finding her feet.
“It’s not just her on‑ball qualities and athleticism. She works extremely hard out of possession. In our press, counter‑press and defensive organisation, she shows real discipline. Her explosiveness makes her a very successful counter‑presser, and she showed that especially in the City game.”
