The actor was recently confirmed as the voice of a newly introduced character in the ‘Super Mario Galaxy’ film that is currently in the pre-production stage. A day after it was reported that ‘Super Mario Galaxy’ will feature Fox McCloud, Glen Powell was announced as the voice behind the beloved character for the upcoming film. The actor confirmed the news of his latest project through his social media account. He shared a clip along with the announcement. The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star posted a video of himself running around an empty theatre with the ‘Mario’ theme song playing in the background. The theatre is filled with large posters of characters from the hit game and movie series. In the end, he finally comes near the camera and fashions an iconic silver jacket. As he turns his back to the viewers, the Fox McCloud logo comes into view, along with the name written in the video. The post was shared on his account along with the caption, “Born to Barrel Roll (star emoji and fox emoji) @supermariomovie.”

Bowser’s son, Bowser Jr., will be joining the franchise and will be played by Benny Safdie, while Brie Larson will play Princess Rosalina. As per the reports, R.O.B., a toy robot that was a Nintendo accessory once, will also have a role in the upcoming animated film. Fox McCloud caused quite a stir amongst the fans of the movie and video game, as he is not from the original ‘Super Mario’ video game. Fox McCloud has led his own separate game by the name ‘Super Fox’ since 1999, though it has been developed under the same game brand that released ‘Super Mario.’ The announcement caused a lot of fans to debate about the possible crossovers that they may get in the future from characters who are not essentially part of the ‘Mario’ universe.
