‘Mahavatar’ is an upcoming mythological film from ‘Stree 2’ director Amar Kaushik, produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film will feature Vicky Kaushal as Chiranjeevi Parashurama, the eternal warrior of dharma. The project is considered one of the most ambitious films the banner has ever undertaken.And according to the Mid-Day report, discussions with Shraddha Kapoor are currently said to be underway. If the deal goes through, the film is expected to go on floors after June. The report stated, “Shraddha fits the brief perfectly. The team was keen on someone who brings star value and presence. Plus, the Vicky-Shraddha pairing will be fresh, and the makers are confident this combination will resonate with the audience.“The actress has not yet commented on the same as of now.
Deepika Padukone was in the race for the project
Shraddha Kapoor is not the first big name linked to ‘Mahavatar’. Earlier reports had suggested that Deepika Padukone was in talks with the production house for the female lead role opposite Vicky Kaushal in the mythological drama. It now appears the makers have shifted their focus to Kapoor.
