Asha Bhosle passes away at 92

On Saturday, Asha Bhosle was rushed to the hospital due to a chest infection and respiratory problems. On Sunday, her son Anand Bhosle confirmed the heartbreaking news of his demise as he spoke to the media outside the hospital. He said her antim darshan will be held at her residence in Lower Parel, and her last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.As the news of her demise broke, tributes started pouring in. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X (formerly called Twitter) to express his grief. He wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Smt. Asha Bhosle ji, one of India’s most renowned and versatile voices. Her unique musical journey spanning decades has enriched our cultural heritage and touched the hearts of countless people around the world. From soulful melodies to spirited compositions, her voice carried a timeless brilliance. I will forever cherish the memories of my conversations with her. My heartfelt condolences to her family, fans, and music lovers. She will continue to inspire future generations, and her songs will forever resonate in people’s lives.”
