East Coast Vijayan’s comedic thriller ‘Bhishmar’ unfolds over a single night, following Murugan’s chance encounter that ignites a chaotic adventure. Dhyan Sreenivasan stars as Murugan, with Vishnu Unnikrishnan as Sultan. The film, a blend of romance and action, promises a cinematic experience with a strong cast and OTT-friendly narrative, concluding with a message on education’s role in societal harmony.

Bhishmar , a comedic thriller directed by East Coast Vijayan, follows Murugan, “a young man with impeccable timing and a sharp sense of humour.” Set over the course of a single night, the film traces a chance encounter between two men that spirals into a series of chaotic events, says Vijayan, who has co-written the film with Ansaj Gopi. The shoot was completed in a single 42-day schedule in and around Palakkad. “Dhyan Sreenivasan plays Murugan, who navigates a string of hilarious situations and finds himself caught in an adventure that tests his wit and courage. The other prominent character, Sultan, is played by Vishnu Unnikrishnan. I had earlier worked with him in the fantasy film Kallanum Bhagavathiyum ,” the director adds.Describing the film as a mix of romance and action, Vijayan says, “With a talented cast, strong production values, and OTT-friendly storytelling, Bhishmar promises a cinematic experience that will resonate with audiences in Kerala and overseas.”The film marks the debut of model Ammayra Goswami, who stars alongside Razia and Divya Pillai. The supporting cast includes Indrans, Senthil Krishna, Santhosh Keezhattoor and Manikandan Achari. Cinematography is by Ratheesh Ram, editing by Johnkutty, and music and background score by Ranjin Raj, with lyrics by BK Harinarayanan. Sajit Krishnan serves as executive producer.The film concludes by addressing critical social issues, asserting that education serves as a vital antidote to societal chaos. By resolving with a constructive ‘happy ending,’ the narrative advocates against senseless civil unrest and encourages viewers to approach complex situations with wisdom and judicial clarity.‘Bhishmar’ is currently running in theatres.
