Alabama country star Ella Langley announces hotly awaited follow-up to her debut album

Date:

Ella Langley has just put a name and a number on the follow-up to the album that made her one of the biggest country stars to come out of Alabama in a decade.

“Hungover,” released in 2024, made her a household name – thanks in large part to “You Look Like You Love Me,” her award-winning duet with fellow Alabama singer Riley Green. Langley’s “Still Hungover” tour carried her through 2025, but her most recent single, “Choosin’ Texas,” is an early taste of her next album.

Virtually nothing was known about that new album, except that it was expected to come in 2026. But on Tuesday Langley revealed some key details on social media. The new album will be titled “Dandelion” and will include 18 tracks.

It can be pre-ordered now on CD or two colors of vinyl: Honey Bee Yellow and Puffball White. According to the ordering site, the release date is April 10.

Langley’s website has this to say about the project:

“Dandelions are masters of survival, thriving in even the harshest environments. Often dismissed as a common weed, this unassuming plant carries a deeper symbolism of hope, healing, and resilience.

“This next record, to me, has so much growth in it. I feel the most myself I’ve ever felt.

“I want you to dance. I want you to sing. I want you to be able to relate to these words in a way where you don’t feel alone in your thoughts. I want you to not even worry about anything and daydream and listen to these songs. I want you to enjoy them with your friends and family.

“I’ve thought about this record every single day for the last year and a half and I’m so excited to finally say … Welcome to Dandelion.”

According to ellalangley.com, the album was co-produced by Langley, Miranda Lambert and Ben West. Lambert was a co-writer on “Choosin’ Texas,” which recently hit No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100, a rare feat for a solo female country singer.
