Alina Charaeva targets a second consecutive upset at the 2026 WTA 125 Catalonia as she prepares for a quarterfinal match against former top-10 player Daria Kasatkina on Friday, May 1, 2026. The 129th-ranked Russian enters the contest following a landmark career victory over world No. 31 Xinyu Wang.

Charaeva secured her spot in the quarterfinals by grinding out a 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 win over Wang, marking the first top-50 win of her career.
