ATP Munich Day 4 Predictions Including Zverev vs Diallo

Date:

The ATP Munich Open, which was upgraded to a 500 series event last year, sees a fantastic pool of players as Day 4 promises to be full of high-octane tennis. The remaining Round of 16 matches are slated to be completed on Day 4, and as ever, we preview and predict all scheduled matches for you. But who will advance?

ATP Munich Day 4 Predictions

Daniel Altmaier vs Alex Molcan

Head-to-Head: First Meeting

Daniel Altmaier has already racked up several losses this year and, despite a quarterfinal run in Bucharest and a solid win over Marin Cilic, still looks vulnerable. Alex Molcan, meanwhile, has quietly built momentum—matching that Bucharest result, coming through qualifying here, and knocking out the third seed here in Alexander Bublik. While Altmaier may be higher ranked, Molcan’s recent match sharpness and time on these courts could prove decisive. Expect a competitive battle, but Molcan looks better placed to grind his way into the last eight.

Prediction: Molcan in 3

Fabian Marozsan vs Denis Shapovalov

Head-to-Head: First Meeting

Fabian Marozsan is a dangerous opponent, as Stefanos Tsitsipas found out in the opening round. Denis Shapovalov has struggled to find consistency this season, which puts him under pressure in this matchup. Marozsan is known to rise to the occasion, especially on clay, where his controlled, flat hitting can be very effective. Expect Shapovalov to have patches of inconsistency, while Marozsan looks to take advantage and push for the win.

Prediction: Marozsan in 3

Francisco Cerundolo vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head-to-Head: Cerundolo 2-0 van de Zandschulp

Francisco Cerundolo has won both previous meetings against Botic van de Zandschulp and looks well placed again here. On clay, Cerundolo’s game is far more suited, with his ability to defend and then turn defense into attack standing out. The Dutchman has historically struggled on this surface and may find it tough to counter the Argentine’s consistency. Expect Cerundolo, who looked sharp in the first round, to control proceedings comfortably.

Prediction: Cerundolo in 2

Alexander Zverev vs Gabriel Diallo

Head-to-Head: Zverev 1-0 Diallo

Alexander Zverev will be pleased with the draw, especially with top names absent, as he begins his title defense in Munich. The German did drop a set in his opening match, but should settle quickly in familiar conditions. Gabriel Diallo brings a big game and can match Zverev on serve. However, from the baseline, there is a clear gap in quality. Expect Zverev to exploit that advantage and progress comfortably.

Prediction: Zverev in 2
