The higher education department is set to commence promotion under the career advancement scheme (CAS) which was due on Jan 1, 2025. A memorandum issued by the department said teachers, librarians and directors of physical education and sports of state-aided universities will have pay revision. Jadavpur University Teachers Association president Partha Pratim Ray said, “Those promoted between Jan 1, 2025, and July 14, 2026, in accordance with govt orders prevailing at that time, will face trouble.”
