While conditions have improved, some areas may continue to experience elevated water levels for a period of time
NEWS RELEASE
MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES
***********************
The Municipality of Huron Shores advises that flows on the Mississagi River have continued to decline, with discharge rates at the Red Rock Dam reduced to approximately 450 cubic metres per second (cms) as of this morning.
Current flows are now below previously warning thresholds, and conditions are trending downward. Based on current information, water levels are expected to remain stable or continue to decrease in the near to mid-term, barring any significant rainfall.
As a result, the Municipality is lifting the Flood Watch for the Mississagi River and surrounding area.
While conditions have improved, some areas may continue to experience elevated water levels for a period of time. Residents are encouraged to remain aware of local conditions and exercise caution near waterways.
The Municipality will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if required.
Residents may continue to follow updates from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and other agencies for broader watershed information.
For questions or to report concerns, please contact the Municipal Office at 705-843-2033.
