The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has adopted a strict technology-backed strategy to conduct the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. It has introduced CCTV-based monitoring across sensitive examination centres. The board administration has shifted into a high-alert operational mode ahead of the examinations. Board Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma confirmed in a press release that CCTV cameras will enable live monitoring from a central control room. The surveillance will primarily focus on sensitive examination centres across the state to prevent any unfair practices.He clarified that the objective of this system is not to create fear among students but to strengthen the examination framework. According to him, technology is being used to ensure fairness and provide equal opportunity to all candidates appearing for the board examinations.
‘No need to fear,’ honest students will benefit
Dr. Sharma stressed in the press release that students appearing honestly for the examinations have nothing to worry about. The surveillance system has been introduced to create a secure academic environment where students can perform without pressure from external influences or malpractice networks.The board has reiterated that this initiative is meant to improve administrative efficiency and maintain the sanctity of the examination process rather than intimidate candidates.
Strict accountability for examination staff
Clear directives have been issued to examination staff members, including centre superintendents and deputy superintendents, to execute their responsibilities with complete dedication. The board warned that negligence at any level of examination management would not be tolerated.Continuous monitoring of CCTV cameras will not only ensure the discipline of students, but it will also ensure the smooth functioning of the examination centers.
Zero tolerance for cheating and malpractices
Dr. Sharma has given a serious warning to all those found to be involved in any kind of cheating, malpractices, or any kind of violation of examination rules, as strict legal and departmental actions will be taken against them.
