How to use sunflower seeds to get the ultimate glowing skin this winter

Date:

plain, roasted (without salt, please)

mixed into poha, upma, dalia

sprinkled on curd or salad

blended into smoothies

added to laddoos or chikki in winter

A lot of Indian households already make til and gud laddoos in winter. You can simply add crushed sunflower seeds to that mixture. Your skin gets extra nourishment while you still enjoy proper desi sweets. Win-win.

Sunflower seed face pack (for instant softness)

If you like DIY skincare, this one is simple and effective.

You’ll need:

1–2 tablespoons sunflower seeds

a little warm milk

1 small spoon honey

What to do:

Soak the seeds in warm milk for 3–4 hours (or overnight if you’re lazy, which is totally fine). Grind them into a thick paste. Add honey. Apply this paste to your face and neck. Leave it on for 15–20 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

What it does:

removes dead skin gently

adds moisture

makes your skin feel plump and comfortable

gives a soft, natural glow

It’s especially lovely for normal to dry skin. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you can swap milk with rose water instead.

Sunflower seed oil – not just for cooking

A lot of Indian kitchens already use sunflower oil for cooking, but not everyone realises it works for skin too.

Cold-pressed sunflower oil:

sinks in easily

isn’t too heavy

is packed with vitamin E

helps soften fine lines and dryness
