The Golden State Warriors continue their road trip with Saturday night’s matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM PT in Atlanta, and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State dropped its second straight game with Friday’s 115–101 loss to the Detroit Pistons. It was competitive early, with the Warriors holding on to a five-point lead after the first quarter. But even without leading scorer Cade Cunningham, Detroit regained control, outscoring Golden State 94–75 over the rest of the game.

Turnovers once again proved costly. The Warriors tied their season high with 25 turnovers, resulting in 32 points for Detroit — a dangerous formula against a Pistons defense that ranks first in the NBA in opponent turnovers (17 per game) and second in points off turnovers (21.5 per game).
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors are now playing their fifth game in seven days and once again find themselves severely shorthanded. Six players are listed as out, including Kristaps Porzingis, who tweaked his back during Friday’s game and did not return. In addition, five more players are currently listed as questionable, including Draymond Green and De’Anthony Melton.

Of course, the main storyline entering Saturday’s game in Atlanta is the matchup against former Warrior Jonathan Kuminga. The new Hawks forward has appeared in six games with the team since being traded at the deadline, averaging 14.8 points in 22.7 minutes per game. During that span, Atlanta ripped off an 11-game winning streak before it ended last night against the Houston Rockets. Kuminga did not play in that game but is expected to be available tonight against his former team.
