Margao: With the monsoon season approaching, the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) has nearly completed its pre-monsoon preparatory works, chairperson Damodar Shirodkar said, adding that the council will also constitute two emergency response teams to handle distress situations during the rains.Pre-monsoon works undertaken by the MMC include cleaning of drains and gutters, desilting of nullahs, pruning and trimming of overhanging tree branches, identification of low-lying areas prone to flooding and clearing of illegal encroachments.“As we do every year, two emergency response teams will be constituted. Each team will have a dedicated vehicle and will be equipped with all the necessary tools to deal with monsoon-related tasks,” Shirodkar said.
