Dubbed the Point God for his award-winning performance on the basketball court, retired LA Clippers player Chris Paul has seen gold more than once in his life.
He was named as one of the 75 greatest players in NBA history during the NBA‘s 75th Anniversary and is a twelve-time All-Star with two Olympic Gold medals.
Away from work, the 40-year-old is a doting dad and husband to his high school sweetheart, Jada Crawley – now Paul.
The pair welcomed their first son, Chris Jr., before they tied the knot in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2011. Shortly after, they became a family of four when their daughter Camryn was born the following year.
Chris regularly gushes over his wife during interviews and told Essence: “I truly love Jada; she has been there for the ups and the downs. Basketball isn’t going to last forever. Jada and I love spending time with each other, genuinely.”
The point guard announced his official retirement from the sport earlier this year on his personal Instagram account with a typed message against a black background.
He said: “This is it! After 21 years, I’m stepping away from basketball.” The sports star added a note of thanks to his family in his message and revealed: “To all the teammates, coaches, staff, executives and most of all family. I can’t begin to thank you enough…but the good news is I’ll now have much more time to start!”
Settling into retirement, Chris has plenty of time to parent his growing children and make up for lost time at home. Let’s meet the star’s son and daughter, whom he shares with his lifestyle brand owner wife, Jada…
Christopher Emmanuel Paul II
Born on 25 May, 2009, Christopher Emmanuel Paul II is the first child of the NBA star and his wife. As a child, he made regular appearances in press conferences with his dad, often joking around with other players on the team.
Now 16 years old, Chris Jr. is following in his father’s footsteps and working on his basketball skills at home with his retired dad.
Chris hinted at his son’s future in 2020 when he told People magazine: “My son loves the game. He loves it. Another thing that this quarantine has given me the ability to do is, I’ve never had an opportunity to train him myself.”
The famous sports star often shares updates about his children’s milestones on his Instagram and documents fun times with his son for his followers.
He shared pictures of his son playing basketball for his high school, Campbell Hall School in Studio City, California, and noted that he also plays the point guard position.
Camryn Alexis Paul
Chris and Jada welcomed their second child, a daughter they named Camryn, one year after their marriage. She was born on 16 August 2012 and is now 13 years old.
Information about Camryn’s schooling is kept private, but according to her Instagram account, which is monitored by Jada, she has a promising future in sports. She plays golf, and in 2018, Chris told ThePostGame that she has also played soccer and baseball.
Chris regularly posts about his daughter on social media and shared a tribute for her 10th birthday, which read: “I love the beautiful Black young lady you are and even more the one you are becoming! Daddy loves you forever! Double digits! Can’t believe it…Happy Birthday, baby girl.”
