NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory addressing biometric verification challenges for candidates appearing in NEET (UG) 2026. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2026, with mandatory biometric checks required after frisking and before entry into the examination room.According to the official notice, candidates may face difficulties in biometric verification due to technical issues such as device malfunction, poor fingerprint quality, connectivity problems with UIDAI systems, or medical conditions affecting biometric capture. In such cases, candidates will still be permitted to enter the examination hall following an alternative verification process.Manual verification process outlined for exceptionsThe NTA has clarified that candidates unable to complete biometric verification will undergo manual identity verification at the examination centre. This process will require candidates to present valid identification documents for authentication.Additionally, an undertaking form will be made available at the centre by the Centre Superintendent or Observer. Candidates will be required to submit this form as part of the verification process. Once the necessary checks are completed, candidates will be allowed to appear for the examination.Officials have stated that candidates will be guided through the procedure at the centre to ensure smooth entry without disruption. The advisory emphasises that candidates should remain calm and cooperate with examination authorities during such situations.Biometric checks not to interrupt examination hoursThe notice further specifies that candidates will not be disturbed for biometric procedures during the examination hours, which are scheduled from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. For PwD/PwBD candidates, this duration may extend up to 06:00 PM.This measure is intended to ensure that no candidate’s test performance is affected due to verification processes once the examination has commenced.Shashwat Tiwari raises admit card print concern, NTA respondsA candidate, Shashwat Tiwari, raised a query regarding admit card print quality, stating that the photograph and signature appeared very small despite multiple attempts with different print settings.Responding to the concern, the NTA clarified that candidates can print the admit card as it appears. The agency stated that there will be no issues at the examination centre as long as the individual appearing matches the details on the admit card.Candidates have been advised to carry their printed admit cards and valid identification documents, and to follow instructions issued at their respective centres on the examination day.
