Bhubaneswar: Odisha topped the medal tally at the IndiaSkills 2025-26 organised from March 29 to April 2. Participants from the state secured 57 medals, the highest number in the country.Out of 90 participants representing Odisha, 57 competitors emerged victorious. They won 15 golds, 12 silvers and 14 bronze medals, while 16 participants got medallions for excellence. They were given a warm welcome upon their arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Friday.Officials from the World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar, praised the participants and their dedication, discipline and technical excellence. IndiaSkills event organised by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) witnessed participation from over 650 candidates across the country.The participants have taken part in diverse sectors, including construction, manufacturing, ICT, creative arts and services. The competition was conducted across multiple locations, including Greater Noida and key centres in Odisha and other states.Successful candidates from this national championship will represent India at the prestigious WorldSkills Competition and bring pride and recognition to the nation on a global stage, said the official sources on Friday.Skill development minister Sampad Chandra Swain, while congratulating the winners, said this achievement reflects the state’s world-class training standards, a strong culture of skill excellence and robust institutional support.
