The focus for the Miami Heat, at the moment, should be making it to the NBA Playoffs. Bam Adebayo and Co. need to win against the streaking Charlotte Hornets for that happen. However, it seems like their front office is months ahead in the season already. This is because it has been confirmed that the higher-ups are planning another trade package to pry Giannis Antetokounmpo off the Milwaukee Bucks through a trade.

Sources confirm Heat still on the hunt for Antetokounmpo, Bucks trade

Shams Charania of ESPN made it clear that Pat Riley and the Heat front office are not yet done in their pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo. Once their season wraps up, the front office will be relentless in seeking for a trade package that works so that the team would have a star-studded roster come 2026-27.

“The Heat, Pat Riley, it’s clear around the NBA when I talk to rival executives: Pat Riley wants his whale, his shark, his tiger. They’ll be back in the Giannis hunt and then whatever star they can find that becomes available to see can we get that No.1 guy,” the NBA Insider declared.

This means that someone from Norman Powell, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro could be playing their last NBA Playoffs stint with the Heat. It’s largely because the Bucks will refuse to ask for someone who is no less than an All-Star along with a lucrative deal with picks sprinkled in. If this does happen, it will skyrocket the Heat into immediate title contention.

Meanwhile, the Bucks will have to start anew and rebuild through picks they’ve acquired through the upcoming offseason transactions.
