DORAL, Fla. — Patrick Cantlay withdrew from the Cadillac Championship on Tuesday, citing illness.
Cantlay, 34, is ranked No. 32 in the Official World Golf Ranking. An eight-time winner on the PGA Tour, he finished T-8 at the RBC Heritage two weeks ago, and has recorded three straight top-15 finishes.
Michael Thorbjornsen, the first alternate, will take his place and tee off at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday in a pairing with Corey Conners. Thorbjornsen was originally in the signature event at Trump National Doral but got knocked out when Alex Fitzpatrick teamed with his brother to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and accepted membership on the Tour.
