Great Performances on PBS has announced that its Broadway documentary series Stagebound is returning just in time for Tony Awards season. The series will follow the journey of three actors currently performing on Broadway: Luke Evans (The Rocky Horror Show), Marla Mindelle (Titaníque), and Robert “Silk” Mason (Cats: The Jellicle Ball).
Each episode will follow each actor’s Broadway journey, from rehearsal, to costume fittings, to press appearances and opening night. Great Performances: Stagebound will be available to stream at PBS.org, the PBS app, and the Great Performances Facebook and YouTube channel.
The series will premiere May 12 at 12 PM ET with Mindelle’s episode, following her journey as the creator and star of Titaníque. Evans’ episode will go live May 19 at 12 PM, detailing his transformation from film star to Frank-N-Furter in Rocky Horror. Mason’s episode will be available May 26 at 12 PM, showcasing the ballroom performer preparing to make their Broadway debut as Mistah Mistoffeless in Cats: The Jellicle Ball.
Last season’s Stagebound episodes—featuring Jasmine Amy Rogers, Andrew Durand, Daniel Dae Kim, and Jinkx Monsoon—are available to stream now.
A production of The WNET Group and Ordinary Sunday in association with 3AD, Stagebound is written and directed by Cody Williams, with Daniel Dae Kim, John Cheng, Adam Verity Paul, Jess Orsburn and Williams as executive producers. For The WNET Group, Clare Frucht is digital content and strategy lead, Bill O’Donnell is series producer and David Horn is executive producer.
