Kochi: City police assisted a NEET candidate on Sunday after finding that the girl who came to Punnakkal GHSS in Elamakkara to write the exam did not have passport-size photographs with her.Civil police officers Chinchu and Aswathy, who were on gate duty, noticed the girl’s plight and offered a helping hand as the relative who accompanied her already left for home. Because it was a Sunday and studios were closed, sub-inspector Lalu Joseph, who was on duty, called Binu — an acquaintance who runs a studio at Deshabhimani Junction — and informed him of the situation.Realising the urgency of the matter, Binu rushed from his home, opened the studio and quickly printed the required copies of passport-size photographs. He handed them over to CPO Mahesh, who was dispatched from the duty site for this purpose. Mahesh rushed back to the school and handed over the photos to the girl, ensuring she could enter the examination hall immediately and write her exam.
