Savannah Bananas players, coach, owner discuss pop-up game in Navasota

NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) – The Savannah Bananas hosted a never-before-done pop-up game at Navasota High School on Thursday.

The Savannah Bananas played the Texas Tailgaters, just like they will on Saturday at Kyle Field, only this game was played in front of a much more intimate audience. The announcement that the game was happening was made at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, the gates at Boenker Field opened shortly after at 4:30, with the show starting at 5:30. The first 1,000 fans were admitted to the game.

KBTX caught up with the founder/owner of the Savannah Bananas, Jesse Cole, the head coach, Tyler Gillum, and players Easton Parrish and Bryce Grizzaffi.
