In response, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure across the border. According to official details, nine major terror launchpads linked to groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were destroyed and over 100 terrorists were eliminated. The operation led to retaliatory action from Pakistan, including drone attacks and cross-border shelling, resulting in a brief four-day military escalation before a ceasefire was reached on May 10 following communication between the two sides.Subsequently, Indian forces launched Operation Mahadev and tracked down and eliminated the three attackers involved in the killings.Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to the victims, reiterating India’s resolve against terrorism.“Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year.
