SALEM: Six men were arrested near Edappadi in Salem district on Sunday on charges of conducting cockfights and engaging in gambling.Acting on a tip-off, the Poolampatti police raided the cockfight site at Kombukadu in Nedungulam panchayat and arrested six men, identified as Naveenkumar,30, of Nedungulam, Sengottaiyan,48, of Navithankuttai, Senthilkumar,45, of Nedungulam, Praveen Kumar,25, of Koneripatti, Karthi,34, of Karattupudur, and Chandran,24, of Ammampettai.They seized the gambling money and two roosters used for the cockfight.
