Bronx, N.Y. – Hitting their home turf for the first time this season, Fordham University Softball hosts its 2026 home opener Saturday and Sunday against Dayton at Bahoshy Field.
All games will air on ESPN+ with WFUV’s Dom Sansone and Anthony Smith on the call of Saturday’s doubleheader at 12:00 p.m. Sansone will also call the series finale Sunday alongside Peter Brito at 12:00 p.m. as well.
Fordham (7-11, 1-2) opened conference play at George Mason last weekend, and are coming off a midweek victory at Army, 3-2 behind strong pitching from Olivia Simcoe and Sydney May. Dayton (8-8, 0-3) was swept in its opening A-10 series at Loyola Chicago last weekend, earning its last win on Mar. 1 against Murray State.
The Rams hold a 34-32 edge in the all-time series with Dayton, with the two sides going 2-2 in four meetings last season. Dayton took the regular season series 2-1 in Ohio in 2025, with Fordham winning the finale, and the most recent meeting in the A-10 Tournament a year ago, when the Rams won 3-0 to advance to the A-10 Championship.

Fordham as a team leads the Atlantic 10 with 10 double plays turned on the year, 50th in the nation, while averaging 0.56 double plays per game, 17th best in Division I.
Defensively the Rams are also the second best in the league and 14th in the country with a .981 fielding percentage, committing just eight errors on the year.
Olivia Simcoe has registered six complete games for the Rams, which leads the A-10 and places her 27th amongst all Division I pitchers for complete games in 2026.
With 11 stolen bases on the year, Neleh Nogay is second in the A-10 and 52nd in the nation, while ranked 25th nationally with 0.61 stolen bases per game.
Averaging less than one walk per seven innings, Holly Beeman leads the conference and sits 12th in the country allowing just three walks across 24.1 innings pitched this season. Elizabeth Gaisior sits fifth in the A-10 in that category, 60th best in the country at less than 1.5.
