Since the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer dropped on Wednesday, fans have been in awe, as their favorite stars will return. However, there were speculations surrounding another star being a part of the superhero film. Fans were speculating that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ star Charlie Cox will also be a part of the film. Now, the star has cleared up the clouds of speculation.
How the speculations started?
During the Wednesday episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ the talk show host had Cox spill the tea. Kimmel grilled Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox about his potential involvement in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. Speculation surrounding Cox’s character Matt Murdock/Daredevil appearing in the film has skyrocketed following the release of the first Brand New Day trailer earlier that day.
Is Charlie Cox a part of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’?
Kimmel started off his interrogation by asking Cox if he’d seen the trailer yet, which sees Peter Parker (Tom Holland) encounter some very familiar faces, including Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher. “No, because it was today, right? I haven’t seen it,” Cox, who flew from New York, where Daredevil films, to Los Angeles for his Kimmel appearance, replied. “I’m sorry, I haven’t seen it.”
Charlie Cox says he’s not in the movie, but he could be lying
Kimmel called the trailer “fantastic” before cutting straight to the chase. “You’re not in it,” he said. “Are you in the movie?” “No,” Cox replied with a smile on his face. “You say no?” Kimmel said. “Okay.”To which Cox then quickly clarified, “If I was in the movie, I would also say no, to be clear. But I’m not in the movie.”The Stardust actor acknowledged that he “could be lying” about his casting, but then reiterated that he’s “not” in the film. “You’re saying you’re not in the movie?” Kimmel pressed, to which Cox replied, “I’m definitely not in the movie”. “I’m not lying,” he admitted.Cox did note that his character made a cameo as Peter Parker’s really good lawyer in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ drops to theatres on July 31.
