GURGAON: A 25-year-old delivery executive was crushed under a truck’s rear wheels in Udyog Vihar on Saturday afternoon after the heavy vehicle allegedly took a sudden turn, forcing him to brake hard and lose control of his motorcycle.Krishna, a Kanpur resident who had been working in Gurgaon for the past several years, met with the accident around 4.30pm near Peepal Chowk, a congested intersection in the industrial belt known for constant movement of container trucks, vans and other heavy vehicles.Police said Krishna was riding behind the truck when it swerved unexpectedly. “To avoid hitting the vehicle, he applied the brakes. The motorcycle lost balance and skidded, throwing him onto the road. But before he could get up, he came under the truck’s wheels and suffered critical injuries,” an officer said. Passersby alerted police and helped rush him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The body was sent for an autopsy. Police registered a case at Udyog Vihar police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS.“The driver was arrested from the spot and the truck seized. Further investigation is underway,” a police officer said.Investigators are checking CCTV cameras near Peepal Chowk and along the adjoining road to reconstruct the sequence of events. They are also recording witness statements to determine whether the driver indicated before turning and whether any traffic rules were violated. Police said the truck’s documents and the driver’s licence are also being verified as part of the probe.
