Babar Azam once again underlined his stature as one of the finest T20 batters in the world, reaching a historic milestone during the PSL 2026 clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi.Peshawar Zalmi continued their impressive run with a convincing eight-wicket victory. After winning the toss, Zalmi opted to bowl first and executed their plans to perfection. Quetta Gladiators struggled to gain momentum and were restricted to 154 in their 20 overs.In response, Zalmi chased down the target comfortably in 18.3 overs. Mohammad Haris provided early momentum with a brisk 35, before Babar Azam took control of the innings. The skipper anchored the chase with a composed unbeaten 71 off 51 balls, ensuring there were no hiccups as Zalmi cruised to victory.Historic Milestone for BabarWith this knock, Babar Azam became the first Pakistani and only the fourth player in the world to register 100 half-centuries in T20 cricket, joining an elite group that includes David Warner, Virat Kohli, and Jos Buttler. He also holds the record for the most consecutive fifty-plus scores in international cricket, having notched nine in a row across formats in 2022.
