Who’s performing at the 2026 Allegheny County Summer Concert Series?

Date:

British rock band The Heavy Heavy, “American Pie” singer-songwriter Don McLean and hip-hop legends Arrested Development are among the featured acts this summer at Allegheny County’s free weekly outdoor concerts at South Park and Hartwood Acres.

The county announced the line-ups Friday.

The season at South Park Amphitheater will open Friday, June 5, with the River City Brass Band.

Other Friday-night South Park acts include Pittsburgh’s Jimmie Ross & The Jaggerz, who hit No. 2 on the charts in 1970 with “The Rapper” (June 12); The Heavy Heavy (July 10); pop-rock outfit Orleans, known for “Still The One” (July 17); Grammy-winning folk-blues singer Ruthie Foster (July 24); McLean (July 31); and former Winger and Whitesnake guitarist (and Fox Chapel native) Reb Beach (Sept. 4).

Special programs at South Park include a July 3 concert by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

At Hartwood Acres, the Sunday-evening shows begin June 7 with Pittsburgh Opera. Other highlights include the Latino jazz of Tito Puente Jr. & Nestor Torres (June 28); 1980s new-wave hitmakers The Fixx (July 12); New Orleans legend Cyril Neville, of the Neville Brothers (July 19); Arrested Development, whose hits include “Tennessee” (July 26); American Roots trio The Wood Brothers; popular big-band revivalists Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (Aug. 9); rock band The Lemon Twigs (Aug. 16); and Pittsburgh’s own Buzz Poets (Sept 6).

On July 5, the PSO visits Hartwood for a special show featuring a Fourth of July-weekend drone show synchronized to the music.

At both locations, all concerts include offerings by local food and beverage vendors.

The Heavy Heavy and Wood Brothers shows are presented by WESA sister station WYEP.
