Vadodara: A Padra resident has accused his maternal uncle and four others of forging his deceased mother’s consent letter to claim over Rs 2.62 crore in compensation paid for land acquired for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project.Based on a complaint filed by Lalji Soma Padhiyar, a resident of Ranu village in Padra taluka, Raopura police registered an FIR against his maternal uncle Nathu Khushal Parmar, Samantsinh Adesinh Parmar, Takhatsinh Parmar, Rajendra R. Parmar and notary Ila C Parekh.According to Padhiyar, his mother, Surajben, died on Jan 10, 2023. She was one of the legal heirs to ancestral land in Sherkhi village that she jointly owned with her father, Khushal Parmar.A portion of the land was acquired in 2017 for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The complainant alleged that during the first phase of compensation in 2018, more than Rs 3.26 crore was credited to the bank account of his maternal uncle, Chhatrasingh Parmar, and neither his mother nor any member of their family received a share of the compensation.The complaint further states that after the Gujarat High Court ordered the release of the second instalment of compensation, a consent agreement dated July 19, 2024, was allegedly prepared on a Rs 300 stamp paper in the name of Surajben, despite she dying nearly 18 months earlier.The document allegedly carried her photograph and thumb impression and was notarised to show that she was personally present before the notary.Police said the forged consent deed was allegedly submitted before the Special Land Acquisition Officer in Raopura to facilitate the release of more than Rs 2.62 crore in compensation, which was allegedly credited to Nathu Khushal Parmar’s Kotak Mahindra Bank account at the Raopura branch.According to the complaint, Samantsinh allegedly signed the consent deed, certifying that the thumb impression belonged to the complainant’s deceased mother, while Takhatsinh Parmar and Rajendra R Parmar signed as witnesses. The notary is accused of notarising document despite the executant allegedly neither being alive nor present at the time. The complainant alleged that all the accused acted in collusion to prepare forged documents and unlawfully obtain the compensation.Claiming that he is a direct legal heir of the deceased, the complainant alleged that neither he nor his family received their rightful share of the compensation. Raopura police have registered a case under BNS and are investigating the allegations.
