In 2024, ‘Sister, Sister’ actress Tamera Mowry-Housley paid $3.8 million for a neglected 15-acre Napa Valley property; while planning an orchard and vineyard, she listed her longtime California home for $2.69 million

Actress Tamera Mowry-Housley and her husband, former journalist Adam Housley, are preparing for a new chapter in Napa Valley as they put their longtime Fairfield, California, home on the market for $2.69 million. The June 2026 listing follows their $3.8 million purchase of a neglected wine-country property in October 2024, a move detailed by Realtor dot com and People as the couple documents their renovation journey online. The transition marks a shift from a spacious suburban residence to a rural property where the family hopes to grow its own produce, establish an orchard and vineyard, and embrace a more sustainable lifestyle.

A longtime family home goes on the market

The Fairfield residence, which the couple purchased for approximately $1.4 million in 2011, has five bedrooms and five bathrooms across about 4,863 square feet, according to the listing coverage. Built in 2005, the home sits on a roughly half-acre lot north of San Francisco. Its features include an open-plan living area, high ceilings, a fireplace, an upgraded kitchen with professional-grade appliances and custom cabinetry, and a primary bedroom with French doors opening onto a balcony. Outside, landscaped grounds, a saltwater swimming pool and views of the surrounding hills give the property a resort-like feel. The asking price of $2.69 million represents a substantial increase over the couple’s original purchase price, although the eventual sale price will depend on market conditions and negotiations. Real estate agents Ryan Nemeyer and Alfonso Garcia of the Nemeyer Garcia Team at Engel & Völkers are handling the listing. The agents have highlighted the home’s privacy, outdoor space and access to nearby employment centres as selling points for prospective buyers.

Why the couple chose Napa Valley

The move follows years of searching for a countryside property that could accommodate the family’s ambitions beyond city living. In October 2024, Mowry-Housley and her husband bought a Napa Valley estate for $3.8 million. Unlike their Fairfield home, the new property was in need of extensive renovation. The single-storey residence measures approximately 2,718 square feet and has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It had reportedly been vacant since 2018.The couple’s decision was driven largely by the land rather than the existing house. The estate spans roughly 15 acres and includes a natural pond, wooded areas and more than four acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vines, according to the property’s previous listing. Adam Housley has described the setting as central to their plans, with the family hoping to create a home that reflects their own design preferences while allowing them to spend more time outdoors.

Renovating a neglected estate into a dream home

The couple began documenting the transformation in April 2026 through their YouTube series, The Housley Farm: Building Our Dream Home. The project offers viewers a look at the challenges of renovating a property that needs significant work while preserving the appeal of its natural surroundings.Their plans include developing an orchard and vineyard, keeping chickens and exploring ways to live more sustainably. The property’s pond is another feature they hope to make better use of as the renovation progresses. For Mowry-Housley, who rose to fame alongside her twin sister Tia Mowry in the sitcom Sister, Sister, the move also represents a personal adjustment. She has spoken about feeling excited about country life while acknowledging that leaving familiar urban surroundings is a significant change. The couple, who married in 2011, share two children, son Aden and daughter Ariah. Their new property is intended to give the family more room to connect with nature and build a lifestyle around the land.

A different vision of family living

The sale of the Fairfield home and the Napa renovation reflect a deliberate change in priorities. Their former residence offered extensive indoor space, established landscaping and a pool, while the new estate provides acreage and the opportunity to shape a property around farming, outdoor activities and family life. The Napa project remains a work in progress, and the listing of the Fairfield home does not itself confirm a completed sale. But the couple’s plans point towards a longer-term commitment to country living, with the land, rather than the house alone, at the centre of their next chapter.
