Tata Sierra vs Hyundai Creta: Base-spec trim price, features & more compared

Tata Motors’ reborn Sierra has arrived with a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh, ex-showroom, placing it directly in the zone of one of India’s most popular midsize SUVs: the Hyundai Creta. While Tata Motors hasn’t revealed the variant-wise pricing for the model, here’s how the base-spec trim stacks up against the Hyundai Creta E, the model’s base-spec variant.

Tata Sierra Smart+ vs Hyundai Creta E: Features

The Sierra’s entry-level Smart+ trim gets bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs and tail-lamps, all-wheel disc brakes, rear AC vents, six airbags, an electronic parking brake. It also gets electrically adjustable ORVMs with indicators, four power windows, a front sliding armrest, rear sunshades, steering wheel adjustability and a Type-C fast charger. Safety comes from a list of electronic aids such as ESP, VDC, hill-assist, traction control, ABS with EBD and several advanced stability modules.

The Hyundai Creta counters with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-start assist, a tyre-pressure monitor, ISOFIX mounts, a digital instrument cluster and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. It includes features such as front and rear armrests, rear AC vents, a 60:40 split rear seat with two-step recline, powered tailgate release and tilt-telescopic steering. The Creta, however, still ships with 16-inch steel wheels in the base variant, whereas Tata Sierra comes with a 17-inch wheel on the base-spec variant.

Where the Sierra stretches ahead is in its overall size. The new Sierra measures 4,340 mm long, 1,841 mm wide and 1, 715 mm tall, riding on a long 2,730 mm wheelbase. It also offers 205 mm ground clearance and a 622-litre boot. The Hyundai Creta is slightly smaller at 4,330 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, with a 2,610 mm wheelbase and 190 mm ground clearance. It has 433-litre boot space.

Tata Sierra Smart+ vs Hyundai Creta E: Prices

The base-spec Tata Sierra comes at Rs 11.49 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the starting price of the Hyundai Creta is Rs 10.72 lakh, ex-showroom.
